Hundreds pack pool at Cool Waters Aquatic Park in West Allis to beat the summer heat
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- As these hot temperatures continue, many are putting on swimsuits, grabbing towels, and heading to the water.
On Tuesday, hundreds were packed inside Cool Waters Aquatic Park in West Allis to try and catch a break from the heat.
"Just to enjoy family and cool off, I mean it's really hot, so enjoying each other and cooling off," said Sherrie Williams, who brought her granddaughter Ava and Ava's best friend, Brielle. "It's a lot of space. It's never too cluttered where you can't swim or you can't get on a ride of a slide or whatever."
Williams added whenever the weather is sweltering, Cool Waters is one of their regular spots to go.
“The people are friendly, there are so many lifeguards, never nothing about safety, so it really soothes me. There’s so many lifeguards, there’s so much protection and there’s a lot of space, a lot of seats -- and there’s shade!" Williams said.
Ava and Brielle said their favorite part of the park is being able to swim together.
Five-year-old Hasani, who also came to cool off, agreed, adding that she also loved all of the water slides.
"It was exciting!" Hasani said.
Cool Waters has open swim on Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Daily admission ranges from $8 to $11.
