How much money each golfer receives at U.S. Open
(CBSSports) The U.S. Open back in February announced its 2017 purse had increased to $12 million, usurping the three other majors and setting a new record for most money paid out to a field. That total is obviously up from a year ago, and the winner's share will be as well to the tune of an additional $400,000.
Winner Brooks Koepka earned just under $2.2 million with shares distributed from there among those placing 2-68.
Wisconsin natives Steve Stricker will earn around $175,000 and Jordan Niebrugge will earn around $60,000.
