House full of children catches fire in Cudahy

CUDAHY-Investigators are looking for a cause of a Tuesday  night house fire at 3646 E Somers Avenue.

The first call came in around 7 p.m. First crews on scene say there was a heavy amount of smoke. All eight people inside at the time had gotten out on their own.

Four of them were hurt and taken to the hospital to be checked out. Battalion Chief said it did not appear the injuries were life threatening.

The fire appears to have started in a lower floor bedroom. But this is just preliminary information and fire crews were still on scene as last as 10 p.m. looking for clues inside what remained of the structure.

Donny Antoniwicz was one of the children who escaped.

\"I smelled smoke so I unplugged everything,\" he told CBS 58 News, \"and then I ran downstairs and got out of the house.\"
