House fire spreads to neighboring home near 9th and Hayes

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee firefighters put out a house fire on the city's south side Tuesday morning, July 28 at a 2 1/2-story home near 9th and Hayes, a few blocks from the Basilica of St. Josaphat.

The call about the fire came in at around 9:25 a.m., according to officials.

Crews saw flames as they arrived and began working. The fire spread to a house next door, and additional firefighters were brought in to help.

Neither house had occupants and no injuries have been reported.
