Hot and humid July 4th with a few storms
The heat is back! Monday we saw high temperatures reach into the 80s but humidity stayed fairly low. On Tuesday, July 4th, the temps get even hotter and the humidity starts to really ramp up. High temperatures on the holiday should reach 90* for most. Wednesday is looking even hotter in the low 90s and then comfy air returns for the end of the week.
In addition to the heat, the humidity also ramps up. Wednesday looks more humid than Tuesday but both days will be very sticky and gross. By Thursday the humidity is barely noticeable.
When you combine the heat and humidity it's going to feel more like the low to middle 90s. With hotter and more humid weather on the way for Wednesday those feel like temps will be even hotter in the upper 90s.
Make sure to take precautions with all the heat. Drink plenty of water and find some shade. An umbrella could provide some shade out at the festivals and parades but will also be of use if we see rain. The best chance for some showers or a few storms will be from noon to 8 PM. No strong or severe storms are expected but if you hear thunder or see lightning make sure to seek shelter inside a structure.
With the rain chance best in the afternoon through early evening most of the morning parades should be dry and good to go however afternoon parades and cookouts may get a little wet. Most of the showers and storms should end before fireworks.
