Hope on Wheels funding research at Children's Hospital

WAUWATOSA-They call it \"Hope on Wheels\" and it created quite the stir at Children's Hospital Friday.


Patients were brought out to the entrance of the hospital to take part in a unique ceremony as Hyundai unveiled a car with the hand prints of Children who are battling Leukemia.


It's a way to commemorate the car maker's $250,000 donation to the research of specialist Dr. Sid Rao.


Research through the hospital and Blood Center of Wisconsin that he, otherwise, would not be able to do.


\"Patients who suffer with acute leukemia whether they're children or adults have relatively poor outcomes,\" Dr. Rao told CBS 58 News, \"So what we want to try and do is improve that. But also try and scale back some of the therapies that can be devastating and have lots of their own complications.\"


It seemed organizers found the perfect way to engage the kids while they're helping them.


Long after the ceremony, the little ones were still get their hands painted and finding a place to leave their imprint as Hyundai and Children's Hospital hope to make a lasting impression on improving their quality of life.
