MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An man living in Milwaukee has been sentenced to 41 months in federal prison for having an AR-15 style rifle and a handgun in connection with drug trafficking.

Edy Matute was sentenced on June 1.

An investigation by the ATF in southern Illinois uncovered a large-scale drug and firearm trafficking organization. 

A search warrant at Matute's Milwaukee house was done on December 5, 2017 where the agents found a Taurus PT945 handgun and a Bushmaster AR-15 style rifle. There was also a grocery bag with two-kilo wrappers with cocaine residue.

Matute is a Honduras citizen who was unlawfully in the United States.
