Homicide investigation underway near 29th and Villard

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a homicide that happened on Sunday, Feb. 26 around 9:49 a.m. near 29th and Villard.

Per Milwaukee police, the Milwaukee Fire Department responded to that location for a fire and located a 31-year-old victim who had been fatally shot.

According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office, the victim has been identified as Cashay Henderson, of Milwaukee. Officials say the victim is a transgender woman. 

This incident is still under investigation. Milwaukee Police continue to seek unknown suspect(s).

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A homicide investigation of a 31-year-old from Milwaukee is underway near 29th and Teutonia.

The Fire Department says there was a fatal fire of a two-story, eight-structure building.

Police say the man also suffered from a gunshot wound. However, it is unclear as of right now whether he died from the fire, or the gunshot wound.

This is an ongoing investigation.
