MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Some homes in the area of S.15th Place and Lincoln have been evacuated following a gas leak, according to a spokesperson for We Energies.

We Energies says they are on scene, assessing the situation and trying to stop the flow of gas.

The utility company says a construction crew was digging in the area and hit a gas line. We Energies says they are still trying to figure out whether a service line or main line was hit.
