Homemade explosives detonate over Appleton neighborhood

(WFRV) - Neighbors in a subdivision near Appleton North High School were plagued with a number of extremely loud detonations occurring mostly in the evening.

Recently, in the early morning of Sunday, a home in the 1300 block of Wyndmere Drive was the target of damage involving a homemade explosive device.

The device, made in part from what appears to be a prescription pill bottle, exploded, damaging the front door of a residence as well as a lawn ornament near the front porch.

Parents are urged to look for indicators that youth may be creating such devices.
