MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The holidays can be a difficult time of year. For foster children, Lad Lake in Milwaukee is making sure no one feels forgotten this Christmas.
Current and former foster children were invited to a holiday party at the organization's Saint Rose campus. Kids ate their weight in cookies and candy, they also got to make crafts and meet Santa.
Organizers say that for some of these children this is the only holiday party they've ever been to, “I just don't want to get teary eyed because when I think about it I get very sentimental, because growing up I used to get a lot for Christmas, and then you see these kids where they don't get much of anything and they get really happy with the small amount of gifts they get,” said Resource Manager Laura.
Lad Lake helps former foster kids get on their feet and learn to live independently.
