'Hoanchella' to showcase music while illuminating the Hoan Bridge's east side ✨
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- "Hoanchella," an event by Light the Hoan, is set to illuminate the east side of Milwaukee's Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge with a light show being synced to music. The event is planned for Aug. 17, according to a Monday, July 24, press release.
"Hoanchella represents a way for Milwaukee to come together," said Erika Smith, Executive Director of Light the Hoan. "Imagine approaching Milwaukee from Lake Michigan and seeing the east side of the Hoan lit up and reflecting off the surface of the water."
The event will feature the Milwaukee Bucks' official DJ and Producer, DJ Shawna, with attendees getting a front-row view of the fireworks from a cruise on the Miss Wisconsin along with a light show synced to DJ Shawna's music.
"Hoanchella" is expected to begin at around 7 p.m. at Lakeshore Park, making its way along the Milwaukee River, turning around Lakefront Brewery at 7:45 p.m. The path will then lead back to the Hoan Bridge where DJ Shawna will take the stage at 8 p.m.
Tickets are available at Hoanchella.com.
Light the Hoan, a nonprofit organization, has been instrumental in lighting the Hoan Bridge since its public crowdsourcing campaign in May 2018.
