MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Hi-Fi Cafe in Bay View says it is in desperate need of help to stay open.
A GoFundMe page was created with a goal of $12,000 "not only to catch up on what is due, but keep the cafe a float until a state of normalcy returns," according to the Go Fund Me page.
So far, nearly $6,000 has been raised.
The GoFundMe page says if money is not raised to pay the overdue bills, Hi-Fi Cafe will be closing within the month.
"It’s kind of sad to have to reach out. We were kind of holding onto hope just having enough regular business to be able to stay alive, you know, we weren’t really planning to do a GoFundMe in order to do that," said manager Amanda Stein, who helped create the fundraising page.
She says the response so far has been "huge."
