Here's where to get a free N95 mask in Kenosha County

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Kenosha County Public Health announced Jan. 21 it is ready to distribute hundreds of thousands of N95 respirator masks to the general public.

The county ordered 440,000 N95 masks from the state stockpile and received its first shipment earlier this week. The masks are now ready to be distributed, Kenosha County Health Officer Dr. Jen Freiheit announced.

“We are very happy to be able to offer these free masks to Kenosha County residents, particularly those who may have a tougher time obtaining masks,” Freiheit said in a statement. “Wearing a well-fitted mask remains one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19, particularly the highly contagious Omicron variant.”

According to the department, each person will get a pack of 20 masks. The masks obtained by the county only come in adult sizes as the county says it has not been supplied child-sized masks.

No identification or proof of residency is required according to the department's website.
