MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Sunday marks the Fourth of July and there are many firework shows you can check out in communities around the Milwaukee area.
Fireworks in Greendale will be taking place later Sunday night.Â
Shorewood's show will start around 9 p.m. on Sunday, and Wauwatosa's show will begin around 9:15 p.m.
Meanwhile, Waukesha, Greenfield, and New Berlin will start their fireworks show later Sunday night.
On Monday, the city of Milwaukee will be hosting their Fourth of July celebration. There will be parades, picnics, and fireworks scheduled at parks across the city.Â
Fire officials and health experts are reminding people to leave fireworks to the professionals. Firework shows are back this year in a lot of communities and it is important to note that most fireworks are illegal to use at home.
Milwaukee Alderwoman Nikiya Dodd issued a statement on Sunday asking people to show respect for neighbors, kids, and pets, and to not set fireworks off at home. If you are caught using them in the city, you can be fined up to a thousand dollars.Â
