Hartford man rescued after falling through ice on Pike Lake in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 65-year-old Hartford man was rescued after falling through the ice on Pike Lake Wednesday, Dec. 30. 

The Washington County Sheriff's Office were called to the scene just before 1 p.m. The man was spotted about 100 yards from the beach. He was rescued and transported to AMC Hartford Hospital and later transported for Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life. 

A preliminary investigation revealed that the man had been trying to cross the lake.

The following agencies responded: Wisconsin State Patrol, Hartford Fire, Hartford Police, Slinger Fire Dive team, Richfield Fire Dive team, West Bend Fire Dive team, Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies and Dive team, Pike Lake DNR Ranger, and Lifestar Ambulance.
