Habitat for Humanity begins construction on new houses in Harambee neighborhood

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity kicked off their 2022 building season Wednesday, March 16, with a ceremonial wall-raising in the city's Harambee neighborhood.

The group is focusing on building affordable homes because they say there are too many barriers for first-time home buyers.

Acting Mayor Cavalier Johnson was in attendance, stressing the importance of investing in affordable housing, which is desperately needed in Milwaukee.
