Green Bay Packers DT arrested for drug possession and weapon offense

Green Bay Packers Defensive Tackle Letroy Guion was arrested in Starke, Florida for possession of marijuana charge and a weapon offense. Starke is where the defensive tackle was born and raised. He has been charged with felony Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a firearm in the Commission of a Felony. Guion's bail has been set at $100,000.

Police say an officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from Guion's vehicle while approaching it. Police say Guion asked the officer if he knew who he was. A police report says Guion admitted there were illegal drugs and a gun in his vehicle.

The officer searching Guion's vehicle says Guion became \"extremely uncooperative and hostile\" after finding the handgun. Police say Guion kept coming towards the vehicle several times saying \"Hey man, my money is in there. Don't let him take my money!\".  Guion allegedly tried to get to his vehicle's front passenger seat to remove a black backpack. Inside that bag police found 357 grams of marijuana and $190,028.81 in US currency.

The Green Bay Packers released the following statement:

“We are aware of a serious matter involving Letroy Guion. We have not yet spoken to Letroy and we will have no further comment.”

Guion signed a one year deal with the Green Bay Packers at the beginning of last season, and is now a free agent. Before signing with the Packers, Guion played six years with the Minnesota Vikings.
