Green Alert canceled: Missing veteran Steven Thistle of DeForest found safe

DEFOREST, Wis. (CBS 58) -- DeForest police has been in contact with Steven and checked his welfare. This alert has now been canceled.

DEFOREST, Wis. (CBS 58) -- 

A Green Alert has been issued to find a missing, at risk veteran. The DeForest Police Department is looking to find U.S. Military Veteran Steven L. Thistle to check on his welfare. 

Thistle was last seen on March 17. 

Authorities describe Thistle as a 36-year-old white male, standing 5'10" tall, weighing 210 lbs., with hazel eyes and short brown hair. 

He's believed to be with his white and black Australian Shepard dog. 

The vehicle Thistle is believed to be operating is a blue 2008 Toyota Scion TC 2 door hatchback with IL Plate AG45626.

Thistle may be traveling to Illinois or Tennessee.
