Gov. Evers orders flags to half-staff in honor of fallen Capitol Police officers

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Governor Tony Evers on Monday ordered the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff.

As a sign of respect for United States Capitol Police Officers Brian D. Sicknick and Howard Liebengood, the flags will be lowered at all buildings, grounds and military installations beginning immediately and ending at sunset on Jan. 13, according to the governor's office.

Officer Sicknick died Thursday night, Jan. 7 after sustaining injuries while on duty during the riots at the US Capitol on Wednesday, Jan. 6.

Officer Liebengood died off-duty, days after responding to the Capitol attack.
