BAY VIEW (CBS 58)--We all know about thrifting and donating when it comes to Goodwill. But what about workforce development? It's a major part of what this non-profit does. And quite honestly, I still don't think a lot of people know about this very important part of the organization. In fact, in just the last year, Goodwill served close to 8,000 people in Milwaukee County alone through workforce programs and services helping job seekers build skills, find work, and connect to resources. Added to this list, more than 1,850 people found jobs with many of these in Milwaukee County.

It's important to mention every purchase made at Goodwill goes toward helping people build career readiness skills, find employment, and connect folks with prospective employers in their local community. In total, 23 counties across Milwaukee and Chicago are part of the overall mission. There are three Connection Centers in our area, including Bay View, 91st Street, and Richards Street. September is Workforce Development month. It's a time to recognize everything this non-profit does when it comes to workforce development.
