Going Blue for Autism at Local Salons

Two salons are adding blue streaks to customers hair to support Autism Awareness.

Blue streaks in the hair are serving as an attention getter for the non-profit group called Good Friend Inc.

It provides training to foster empathy for students with autism spectrum disorder.

This is the fifth time for highlight it up blue with the help of Merle Norman from Brookfield and Salon Brillare from Pewaukee.

“These stylists have donated their time to this campaign. So that they are putting in these products to support people who stand for autism acceptance,” said Chelsea Budde, President, Co-Founder Good Friend, Inc.

Students with Waukesha STEM Academy, Whittier and Rose Glen Elementary Schools are hosting events Monday, Thursday and Friday.

NU Attitude Salon in Wales is also taking part.
