Giannis expected to compete for Greece in friendly game against Spain

Head coach of the Greece men's national basketball team says Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will play during a friendly match against Spain on Tuesday.

According to Harris Stavrou with Sports24, the game will be live-streamed for free on the Greek streaming site, ErtFlix.

Greece is preparing for EuroBasket 2022, considered to be one of the most prestigious tournament in European basketball, which will start at the beginning of September. European national teams are also getting ready for 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers. Antetokounmpo is expected to play in those games as well on Aug. 25 & 28.

EuroBasket is a tournament held every two years. Greece has won the championship twice but haven't medaled since 2011 when they came in 3rd. The FIBA World Cup is held every four years. Greece finished 11th in the 2019 games held in China.
