Germantown Man Allegedly Drives Drunk to Police Department to Report Harassment

A Germantown resident drove drunk to the Germantown Police Department to file a harassment complaint on Tuesday around 4:30 PM, according to a post by the Germantown Police Department's Facebook Page.

The 52-year-old Germantown resident reported receiving harassing messages from someone he knew.

An officer was assigned to meet with the complainant and investigate.

During the course of the investigation, it became obvious to police that the subject may be impaired by alcohol.

The officer conducted an operating while under the influence investigation and had probable cause to arrest the subject for OWI first offense.

The subject’s alcohol reading on the intoximeter was almost twice the legal limit. Once the booking process was completed, the subject was turned over to a sober responsible adult for a ride home. The officer also completed the harassment complaint that the subject originally filed.

Germantown Police Department said this is not the first time someone has driven impaired to the Germantown Police Department.
