Milwaukee's favorite barbershop is consolidating its two locations. Gee's Clippers is moving into one of the most historic buildings in the city's Bronzeville
neighborhood, a bank dating back to 1930, with 25-foot ceilings and its original vault. The new location will house 26 barbers and four stylists under one roof.
"Combining the locations was something I've thought about for a while now, but I couldn't find the right space," says Gaulien Smith, owner of Gee's Clippers. "This historic bank building has loads of character and charm. I can't wait to show it off at our grand opening."
Gee's Clippers has been in business for 22 years.
The business has expanded twice.
The current expansion made possible, in part, by Milwaukee's City-Wide White Box program, funds designed to provide targeted financial incentives to increase the vitality of neighborhood commercial corridors.
Gee's Clippers says it will continue its community work.
