Gas line struck in Oak Creek forces evacuations

OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) – WE Energies said a contractor struck a gas line in Oak Creek on Monday, October 7, forcing some evacuations.

The gas line was struck on Golden Lane -- located near Howell Avenue and Ryan Road. 

CBS 58 was told WE Energies had crews on the scene to stop the gas flow and repair the damage. 

Officials say some people had to be evacuated but not for very long.
