Gander Mountain's latest update: 9 stores in Wisconsin are closing

Back in March, outdoor recreational store Gander Mountain announced that it is filing for bankruptcy.

In a press release, the company said a decrease in in-store sales led them to review their business plan. As a result, in order to keep up with online shopping, it was determined the company needed to restructure to have a more narrow focus and lower operating cost.

Gander Mountain has now notified the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development of their intention to close nine facilities in Wisconsin, affecting 371 employees.

According to a release, the closings will take place on August 30, 2017, or shortly thereafter.
