WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Dairy Queen in Waukesha held a fundraiser in honor of a 6-year-old boy who died when he was hit by a vehicle last month.
10% of sales from Monday's fundraiser are going straight to the family.
Police say Logan Smith and his mother were on their way to the restaurant when the crash happened.
The boy died and the boy's mother was seriously injured.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
"It broke my heart when it happened to him and I feel for the family, we all do, but I hope they can go and move forward and hopefully this helps them," said Dairy Queen employee Sandra Friberg.
The fundraiser was organized by staff and families of Hillcrest School.
