Friday is World Elephant Day

Friday was World Elephant Day.

The Milwaukee County Zoo brought attention to the main reason elephants are endangered because of the ivory trade.

Zoo visitors were asked to give their signatures to support a law that would prohibit the sale of ivory in Wisconsin.

The zoo says 96 elephants are killed each day because of the ivory trade. They want everyone to know that they can be a part of the solution.

The elephants were given special treats this afternoon to stomp o, .it's meant to symbolize "stomping out" the ivory trade.
