MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- People gathered for a chance at a free bike at Kosciuszko Park on Milwaukee's South Side on Saturday.
The event was a partnership between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center and aimed to get kids and parents moving.
More than a thousand free bikes were given out, along with helmets and more.
"Our goal is just to try and inspire people to eat better, exercise better and exercise more, bike walk, do zumba and try and live healthier," said David Waters of the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center.
Many of the bikes were donated through a free admission program at the Lake Express Ferry, where they were sorted and refurbished before being given away.
CBS 58 and Telemundo Wisconsin's Jocelyne Pruna was one of the emcees for the event.
