FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The advent of social media has provided an everyday tool for millions to connect globally, but sadly it can also lead to cyber bullying among children and teenagers. But one Franklin teenager is using social media in a decidedly positive manner to raise awareness about her congenital muscular condition and show others that our differences are what make us special.
Since birth, Leah Vogedes has been afflicted with a spinal muscular disease known as spinal muscular atrophy or SMA. The condition severely limits her mobility and provides a great array of daily challenges. But instead of retreating away from prying eyes, Leah’s invited the world to see how she lives her daily life through a YouTube channel which continues to gain in popularity.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Pauleen Le took a journey through Leah’s SMA adventures.
