Franklin Man Dies After Being Pinned while Trying to Change Tire

A Franklin man died while trying to change a tire in Greenfield on Tuesday around 12:03 PM.

According to Greenfield Police Department, police and fire personnel were dispatched to the 5500 block of W. Forest Home Ave for reports that a man was pinned underneath a vehicle and was not believed to be breathing.

Officers arrived on scene, and with the assistance of citizens they were able to free the subject from underneath the vehicle.

Once the subject was free from underneath the vehicle, Greenfield officers and paramedics began life saving measures.

Despite their efforts the subject succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased was in the process of changing a tire on a vehicle, when the tire jack appeared to have malfunctioned which then caused the vehicle to fall down on top of the deceased.

The victim was a 22 year old male from Franklin, who worked in the immediate area.
