Foxconn working to make medical ventilators in Wisconsin

(CBS 58) -- Foxconn confirms it is working to produce medical ventilators in Wisconsin to help with shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A spokesperson from Foxconn Technology Group sent CBS 58 the following statement:

"We can confirm that we are working with Medtronic, a US-based medical technology provider, on an initiative to produce medical ventilators in Wisconsin. The medical and technical experts from both our companies are working closely to fast-track the research and development and production processes so additional ventilators can be quickly produced to fight the current global pandemic. We would like to extend our gratitude to our founder Mr. Terry Gou for his help in facilitating this partnership with Medtronic and his contribution, based on his previous experience in the healthcare business, to this collaboration."

There is no word on when the ventilators would start being made or be ready to use.

Based on Foxcon's previous statements and promises, my guess is the ventilators might be ready by the time the next pandemic hits.

Sheltering at home when I'm not working as a machinist to supply tractor parts to farmers so you can eat fresh veggies.
