MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The former owner of a Milwaukee day care was sentenced to three years in prison Thursday, April 25, after pleading guilty to child abuse charges.

Danielle Jones owned and operated Two Helping Hands Daycare on Silver Spring Drive.

According to a criminal complaint, video was located by investigators, showing numerous instances of Jones threatening children with violence, times where children were left without supervision, and times where Jones picked children up by an arm or their arms.

One incident captured on surveillance reportedly showed Jones pick up a child by the hair and carry them into another room, essentially dropping them into a pack and play. The complaint says another incident showed Jones slapping a child on her left arm with such force to cause her to fall to the ground on her face and then fall on her back.

Records show Jones' sentence is followed by four years of extended supervision.
