Fond Du Lac Police arrest bare-naked burglar

FOND DU LAC -- Police in Fond du Lac said they arrested the man responsible for a number of nude home invasions.

Police said a 26 year old male resident of the City of Fond du Lac was taken into custody and arrested in connection with the three home invasions that have occurred on the city’s southeast side since June 24, 2014.

Additionally, the City of Fond du Lac Police Department is investigating the suspect’s involvement in a fourth incident that had not been reported because the homeowners apparently did not realize that he had been in their home.

The City of Fond du Lac Police Department had identified the arrested subject as a suspect in the case, and a Detective had the occasion to interview him on Saturday, August 09.

During that interview the suspect admitted to being responsible for each of the incidents.

Additionally, he admitted that he had entered three of the four homes while being nude, and to touching an adult female while she slept in one of the incidents.

Entry into all four homes was made through unlocked doors.

He has been arrested for Burglary, Attempted 2nd Degree Sexual Assault, and Lewd/Lascivious Behavior, and is being held in the Fond Du Lac County Jail.

Fond du Lac Police Chief William Lamb said in a statement:

“I would like to thank the residents of the community, particularly those in the neighborhood where these home invasions had been occurring, for their cooperation and support as we investigated this troubling series of incidents. While we strongly encourage vigilance in personal safety and protective behaviors at all times, we are obviously relieved that the suspect responsible for these acts has been apprehended. Of course, that relief is undoubtedly shared by the residents of that neighborhood and for the families that were involved. Additionally, I would like to commend City of Fond du Lac Police Department Lead Detective Steve Kaufman for the diligence and outstanding investigative work that has ultimately led to this arrest.”
