Fond du Lac man arrested after home fire believed to be intentionally set

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 40-year-old Fond du Lac man was arrested for arson following a fire that happened Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 7. 

Fond du Lac police and fire officials were called to a home at 302 N. Macy Street just before 3:15 p.m. and extinguished the fire, but not before it caused extensive damage to the home. 

An investigation determined the cause of the fire was suspicious and appeared to be intentionally set. 

Police arrested a 40-year-old Fond du Lac man for arson and criminal damage to property. He was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail. 

Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire. 

An investigation into the fire remains ongoing. Authorities say there is no threat to the community as this appears to be an isolated incident.
