Fond du Lac cat killer sentenced to five and a half years in prison

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) - A Fond du Lac man was sentenced to five and a half years in prison after killing a cat in Fond du Lac County. 

On Tuesday, 33-year-old Preston Buck was sentenced in Fond du Lac County circuit court for a number of convictions.

The judge consolidated several convictions in the sentencing decision. They include mistreatment of animals, disorderly conduct, bail jumping, obstructing an officer and unlawful use of a telephone, threatening harm.

Buck was charged with the violent killing of a cat in January of last year. He told police that the cat, who he did not own, had knocked over a lamp and bit him. He admitted to kicking the cat across the room, according to court records.
