'Flies in the vasoline, we are': Stone Temple Pilots and Live to co-headline alt-rock concert at AmFam Amphitheater

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two hitmaking rock bands that saw major chart, radio and MTV success throughout the 1990s are set to perform in Milwaukee as part of a co-headlining tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary two seminal albums from 1994.

Stone Temple Pilots and Live will commemorate the 30th anniversary of their respective albums, Purple and Throwing Copper, with a performance on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

These albums achieved multi-platinum sales and critical acclaim, with Throwing Copper topping the Billboard Top 200 and selling over 10 million records, while Purple debuted atop the Top 200 chart as it sold six-million albums.

Some of the most well-known songs of the albums include "Interstate Love Song," "Big Empty" and "Vasoline" by Stone Temple Pilots, along with "Lightning Crashes," "All Over You" and "I Alone" from Live.

Soul Asylum is scheduled to appear as special guests for this stop of the tour, best known for their Grammy Award-winning hit song "Runaway Train."
