Five from Detroit were indicted by the US District Court on September 22 for smashing display cases and grabbing numerous watches from West Bend's Husars House of Fine Diamonds on December 29.
On December 29, 2014, at approximately 3:50 PM five suspects entered Husars House of Fine Diamonds.
Trayvon Shelton, Charles Leroy Hall, Gawain Scott Mandeville-Nelson II, Deangelo Hayes and Aliya Rahman were charged.
The suspects were armed with hammers they used to smash a display case. The suspects then removed numerous watches and fled the store.
Witnesses observed the suspects enter a tan minivan and flee in the minivan.
West Bend police officers recovered the minivan a short time later in a parking lot in the 800 block of South Main Street in West Bend.
The vehicle, a Chrysler Town and Country was stolen earlier in the day from another parking lot in West Bend.
No victims or witnesses were injured during this offense.
The robbery at Husar’s was one of several related robberies of jewelry stores throughout the United States.
For the past several months the West Bend Police Department, FBI agents from the Milwaukee and Detroit Offices, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office have been working on this case.
