Fireworks in Milwaukee Lead to Hefty Fines

A warning about fireworks as the Fourth of July approaches. Not only are they a nuisance to neighbors and pets, they can trigger PTSD among our Veterans, and they are illegal in Milwaukee.

Local officials will gather today to inform the public about penalties for possessing fireworks in Milwaukee. They'll also stress the safety issues and dangers of using fireworks.

Alderman Terry Witkowsi will join officials from the Milwaukee Police and Fire Departments and Public Safety Committee Chair Alderman Bob Donovan later this morning.

Possession of fireworks is against the law in Milwaukee, and can result in fines ranging from $500 to $1000.
