Fire Command Vehicle Struck by Car While Assisting at Car Crash

A Greenfield Fire Department Command Vehicle was struck by another car after helping Fire and EMS units at an injury crash coming into the Hale Interchange Friday night.

Shortly after, another vehicle crashed as well.

The Greenfield Battalion Chief driving the car was out of the vehicle at the time and was uninjured. Several other members were evaluated on scene and one was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Greenfield Fire Department is taking this opportunity to remind drivers to slow down and move over when approaching an emergency vehicle.
