ELM GROVE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- For the second year in a row, Fazio’s Sweet Moments Sweet Life of Elm Grove earned first place and Best of Show honors at the Wisconsin State Fair for artisan chocolates.
The winning entry, "Cheers from Wisconsin," is a layered ganache candy inspired by a Wisconsin staple cocktail: the Old Fashioned. It features bourbon from Great Lakes Distillery, orange ganache and Door County cherries. It is dipped in milk chocolate and topped with dried fruit and rock candy.
Cindy Karrells, co-owner and chocolatier, joined us on Tuesday, Sept. 9 to discuss the award.
"Cheers from Wisconsin" is available at Fazio’s Elm Grove shop through the holiday season.
