Wednesday marks 15 years since 7 year old Alexis Patterson disappeared while on her way to Hi-Mount Public School in Milwaukee.
Wednesday morning, Patterson’s family and loved ones, join the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office in holding a wreath laying ceremony. There was also a small prayer service and moment of silence.
While the case is now in the hands of the Milwaukee Police Department's Cold Case Unit, the sheriff's office is funding a reward in the case. They are offering up to $10,000 with information that could solve the case.
Alexis' mother says it's important to hold these ceremonies every year to remind the public she's still missing, and she also still holding out hope she will return.
Sheriff Clarke did not want to speak with reporter and left after the ceremony. He met privately with Alexis’ mother. She tells us she took the time to thank him for all he has done in the case.
