First 50s arrive five weeks late with more on the way
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A tradition of football and feeding the hungry continued in West Allis Thursday, Nov. 28.
A group of friends, family and even strangers got together at West Allis Central High School to play some tag football. It was the 21st year for the Turkey Bowl tradition, and it's still going strong.
"Me and my brother and sister got together to do this many years ago, and then we got food for Hunger Task Force and it's just kinda a neat deal every year, it gets bigger and bigger, and now people start bringing their kids and stuff," said Scott Wargolet. "It's a nice little deal."
The family says their goal this year is to donate 500 pounds of food.
