MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) – A family continues to mourn after a 22-year-old woman was killed while riding in an Uber early Friday morning.

The teen driver who police say caused that crash is now charged.

A memorial at the scene of the accident continues to grow as family and friends have been stopping by remembering Cristian Marilyn Hernandez, better known as Marlyn.

According to Marlyn’s obituary page, she is remembered as a vivacious and beautiful person. She is described as a talented makeup artist who also had a love for animals.

Police say the crash took place early Friday morning when police tried pulling over a speeding suv on Greenfield Avenue.

Officials say the car ran a stop sign at 20th and Orchard where it T-boned an Uber. Marlyn and friend were passengers.

According to the complaint, 16-year-old Jesus Cardenas-Torres was taken into custody from the scene. He told police he did not have a driver’s license and knew he was not allowed to drive.

The teen is being tried as an adult. He faces two counts of knowingly operating a vehicle without a license-causing death and causing bodily harm.

Investigators say the Uber driver suffered from broken ribs and lacerations.

Marlyn was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

On Monday, the family of the suspect had a message for the grieving family.

“I’m sorry that this happened,” says a family member of Jesus, who did not wish to be identified. “I’m sorry it’s a really had time. I’m praying for you. If you need anything, you can let us know and we will help you.”

There are two visitations taking place for Marlyn on Tuesday and Wednesday.

She is survived by her mother, stepfather, and three sisters.
