MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A colorful display took over Milwaukee's lakefront Wednesday, Jan. 1.
Families bundled up and headed to Veterans Park for Kite Fest. And while kite-flying is fun for parents and kids, some people take it to a higher level.
"Lately, the last five or six years, we've been flying with a kite club down in Florida," said avid kite flyer Wally Bartelt. "So we all bring kits, and we'll fly 20 or 25 at a time and tie 'em to sandbags and put 'em up. And then we'll take our two string sun kites and put 'em up in the air and do stunts and circles and dives with them."
Visitors were also treated to free hot chocolate.
