Fake money found at tavern in Caledonia

CALEDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Village of Caledonia Police Department is investigating after counterfeit money was found.

According to police, a citizen said he found $50 on the ground after visiting a local tavern on Friday night.

When the man looked at the money he found in the morning, he noticed that it was not real.

According to police, the money is movie prop or training money that can be purchased online.

Caledonia Police issued a warning on social media saying in part, "Be aware that this money is present in today's society and always check your change you receive from any business or person. This post is for information only, there is no investigation open on this incident."
