Employee injured in shooting at Beaver Dam Fleet Farm

Two teens are in custody following a shooting at the Fleet Farm store in Beaver Dam. Police say that a 31-year-old assistant manager was shot in the wrist and shoulder while he was trying to assist another employee in detaining a shoplifter. The 17-year-old suspect from Fitchburg was trying to steal ammunition when he exited to the parking lot, got into a vehicle, and fired towards the employees, hitting the victim once. About 15 minutes later, the suspect was located in the city of Columbus. A second suspect, an 18-year-old Verona man, was taken into custody at the store a short time later. Both teens are having their cases referred to the Dodge County District Attorney's office. The injuries suffered by the employee are not considered life-threatening.
