OSHKOSH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- EAA AirVenture opened Monday, July 20 at 6 a.m. in Oshkosh, drawing hundreds of planes and aviation enthusiasts for a weeklong show running through Sunday, July 26.

Attendees can expect aircraft ranging from single-engine propeller planes to advanced fighter jets and spy planes.

The 2026 show marks the 73rd annual aviation convention, the largest in the world. In 2025, EAA AirVenture set an attendance record with over 700,000 people and more than 10,000 aircraft arrivals at area airports.

Gov. Tony Evers has helped solidify the area's aviation spirit by proclaiming July 20-26, 2026 as Aviation Week in Wisconsin. Wisconsin Department of Transportation Secretary Kristina Boardman said in a Monday press release that WisDOT is exited about fans of flight coming to Wisconsin.

We’re excited to celebrate the rich history of aviation and highlight how our state safely connects passengers to destinations, goods to markets and supports local and global economies." - Kristina Boardman
