Driver Dies after 'Vaulting' and Striking a Tree

On March 5 at 12:29 PM, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on County Highway DW at Idaho Road, in the Township of Herman in Dodge County.
Preliminary investigation shows that a SUV was traveling north on Idaho Road and failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection with County Highway DW. The SUV vaulted, struck a tree and a fire ensued. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.
